Cotswold Life EMI Awards 2016

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Over 450 joined Cotswold Life at Cheltenham Racecourse, flying the flag for regional manufacturing, engineering and innovation excellence, at the second Cotswold Life Engineering Manufacturing Innovation Awards

The Cotswold Life EMI Awards celebrates a thriving industry across Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire. There is no other single awards ceremony that comprehensively celebrates and showcases the diversity of manufacturing in the Cotswolds. Representatives from some of the largest national manufacturing and engineering support organisations joined Cotswold Life to showcase the breadth and depth of innovation and skills here.

The 2016 awards evening got off to a fantastic start when over 450 guests entered the room to see an aeroplane suspended high above the dinner tables. The incredible Electroflight P1, based at Stroud, has been designed by a team led by Roger Targett and is powered by high performance electric motors. Designed to set world records for an electric aircraft the Electroflight P1 is showcasing true engineering ambition demonstrating future potential for “green energy” aircraft design.  Also on show was a Formula Student Car brought to us by four students from Oxford Brookes Racing, of Oxford Brookes University one of the best universities for motorsport engineering in the world.

The second highlight of the evening was keynote speaker Lord Paul Drayson whose inspirational speech celebrated the Cotswolds as a hotbed of design and manufacturing capability. Lord Drayson has developed successful businesses in food manufacturing, bioscience and motorsport research and development, and served as a Minister in the British Government, first in the Department of Defence and then in Science and Innovation.

Each of the 100 Awards entries offered an impressive insight into what is happening across this sector. Manufacturing is embedded in this region. It employs and trains tens of thousands and offers fantastic opportunities to anyone with ambition and drive. All the 2016 finalists and winners showcased manufacturing brilliance and collective ambition. The judging panel were impressed with the quality of nominations and the truly inspiring innovation happening within Cotswold companies.

The Isaac Partnership proudly sponsored Exporter of the Year for the second time, with Director Chris Isaac presenting the prize to Batten & Allen, who just edged out the other finalists, Advanced Insulation and Delphi Diesel Systems.

Stonehouse-based marketing and design agency the Isaac Partnership have won a prestigious contract to deliver the internet marketing strategy and website for one of the top professors at MIT in Massachusetts USA, Sara Seager, Professor of Planetary Science and Physics.

As Christopher Isaac, Creative Director explains “One of our existing engineering clients, Omnitrack, who manufacture specialist ball units for the aerospace industry, put our name forward for the web design and development project and, despite competing with MIT’s existing suppliers, we secured the contract to deliver the digital strategy that will explore the scientific journey and discovery of exoplanets, earth-like planets that are suitable for human habitation.”

The Isaac Partnership presented a series of concepts, bringing together interstellar imagery with an interface and user journey that reflected the boundary-pushing scope of Sara’s work and institutional heritage of MIT.

“The first stage design work captures the excitement and has a unique feel and I’m definitely enthusiastic about working with The Isaac Partnership” commented Sara.

“It’s made me feel so proud to be part of the amazing voyage of discovery and to know that thousands of people around the world will see our work” continued Chris, “It’s great to be able to say we’re an accredited vendor to MIT, I think it gives a sense of the scale of our work and reassures our clients that they are getting a truly world-class service.”

Export Sales Rise Due To New Packaging Designs

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Lister Shearing, based in Stonehouse, started manufacturing shearing equipment back in 1909. Today Lister products continue to be designed and manufactured in the UK and are exported to over 60 countries. The business engaged the Isaac Partnership marketing agency in Stonehouse halfway through last year to come up with a new strategy for their product marketing.

Lister has an enviably well recognised brand in the shearing world,€ explained Chris Isaac, Creative Director of the Isaac Partnership. The range includes equipment for all levels of user and types. The problem lay in the very traditional look and feel of the brand. With more and more younger upwardly mobile shearers working in agriculture we had to go back to what made the products great and re-engage with a younger audience. We called this market segment the €˜Hunter Wellies Brigade€™. Lister products were appearing as something that your father or your grandfather would use. By introducing fresh colours and streamlining the look of the products on the packaging we were able to create something new in the shearing world that nobody else had seen, and re-establish the brand as a leader in the market.€

Simon Freegard, Global Sales Manager at Lister Shearing commented We had struggled on with the same packaging for nearly ten years and our products were feeling dated, despite continuing to make innovations in the product design and manufacturing. By engaging with the Isaac Partnership to redesign our packaging we created new interest in the market and got retailers really excited about our products again. We can clearly see the correlation between the new product brand & packaging strategy and the sales increase in all territories. We are now working on a number of exciting new projects and are looking forward to even more success€

We really value British manufacturers and love helping them to create better marketing and packaging€ continued Chris. Since the start of this year we have already completed marketing campaigns in over 20 countries and are in the process of developing a multi language, multi currency ecommerce site for another Gloucestershire manufacturer.€

To celebrate Export is Great Week we are offering manufacturing and engineering firms in Gloucestershire a free 1 hour Marketing, Branding & Packaging Review.€

Isaac Partnership proud to sponsor the EMI Awards 2016

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Last year the Isaac Partnership sponsored the Exporter of the Year category at the Cotswold Life Engineering, Manufacturing & Innovation Awards and are proud to be sponsoring Exporter of The Year a second time. Last year€™s awards were a fantastic celebration of Gloucestershire€™s manufacturing and engineering industry and we were proud to sponsor a category with so many incredible nominees.

Gloucestershire is an amazing county for engineering and manufacturing€ commented Creative Director, Chris Isaac. We€™ve been supporting businesses in this industry for more than a decade, working with national names like Stanley and BAE Systems, through to amazing local manufacturers like Lister Shearing and Omnitrack.€

The great thing about working with engineers and manufacturers is that they€™re always innovating. We only work with one solicitors practice, one accountancy business, one school, to avoid any conflict of interest. But with engineering, there€™s no competition, just great businesses and a great community working to make amazing things.€

Last night marked the official launch of the 2016 awards with an amazing launch event held at Dean Close School.

It€™s great to sit among such an esteemed set of sponsors like Omega, Lockton, Gloucestershire College, Grundon, Oxford Brookes, Land Rover Experience, Quolux, Bruton Knowles, Total, and headline sponsors BPE Solicitors.€
